Vanconol® ET-103 Corrosion Inhibitor
----------Oilfield Produced Water
1. Abstract
Corrosion sources in oilfield produced water mainly include H₂S, CO₂, dissolved oxygen, and bacterial corrosion, which accelerate the occurrence of corrosion. Meanwhile, high-salinity water contains calcium and magnesium ions that are prone to forming precipitates, adhering to the surfaces of pipelines and equipment to cause under-deposit corrosion, which further increases corrosion risks.
Vanconol® ET-103 Corrosion and Scale Inhibitor contains scale-inhibiting components that can chelate calcium and magnesium ions into non-precipitating forms, effectively inhibiting scaling and reducing under-deposit corrosion. The corrosion-inhibiting components in the formula are adsorbed on the metal surface to form a dense protective film, effectively preventing corrosion.
Main Purpose: Used in the treatment process of oilfield produced water to prevent metal corrosion caused by H₂S, CO₂, dissolved oxygen, bacterial corrosion, and under-deposit corrosion induced by high-salinity water.

Safety Instructions: The product formula is safe; specific environmental protection characteristics depend on the actual application environment. It is recommended to follow relevant environmental protection standards during use.
3. Application Guide
3.1 Recommended Application Fields
Oilfield Produced Water Treatment: Suitable for oilfield produced water systems with high salinity and corrosive media (such as H₂S, CO₂).
Corrosion and Scale Prevention: Effectively prevents metal corrosion and under-deposit corrosion, extending the service life of equipment.
3.2 Mechanism of Action
The scale-inhibiting components in the product can effectively chelate salt ions in the system to inhibit scaling. On the other hand, the corrosion-inhibiting components in the product can be effectively adsorbed on the metal surface to form coordinate bonds, forming a monomolecular adsorption film on the metal surface, which prevents corrosive media from contacting the metal and protects the metal surface.
3.3 Usage Methods and Recommended Dosage
Pre-operation Inspection: Check if the product in the packaging barrel is in a molten state. If solidified, it should be preheated and melted in advance.
Dosage Calculation: Calculate the required weight of the corrosion inhibitor based on the produced water volume. The calculated dosage of this product should be above 15ppm; when used under working conditions with temperature above 65℃, the recommended active ingredient content is above 75ppm. The specific dosage may vary according to the content of corrosive media and scaling tendency in oilfield produced water. It is recommended to conduct laboratory tests before use to determine the economical dosage.
Dilution and Usage: It can be diluted according to on-site needs, and demineralized water should be used for dilution; measure the calculated amount of corrosion inhibitor into a dedicated container and add it to the system.
4. Safety and Storage
Packaging: The product is packaged in plastic barrels with a net content of 220L per barrel; other packaging can be customized according to user requirements.
Storage and Transportation Conditions: During storage and transportation, protect from sunlight, fire, moisture, and collision. Store in a clean, cool, and dry warehouse.
Handling of Remaining Products: If there is any remaining product in the packaging after use, it should be properly sealed to prevent volatilization.
Shelf Life: One year at room temperature.
